Could you superglue the magnet onto the spoke rather than using the screw thing to hold it in place. Soldering might be another way, but I don't know if that might harm the spokes?

superglue etc. not gonna b much good if the problem is the spoke slot in the magnet is too small for the oversize spokes. Short of using a needle file to increase the size of the spoke slot the only thing i can suggest is contact any manufacturer ur thinkin of buying comp from and ask if they can supply an oversize spoke compatible magnet.

What type of fixing is it, the Sigma type where the magnet clips onto the spokes and is held on by a metal sleeve or the Cateye type which attaches to two spokes ?
bad ideas

if you go to your lbs they should be able to get you a special shimano magnet to use with those spokes.i'm not positive on this but, with shimano making a lot of wheels (all bladed spokes) and their flightdeck computers, it would make sense for them to make a special magnet to fit said wheels.

I have both types of magnets from various cycle computers. I work in halfords so I'll try contacting head office but they probablywont be able to help. Its gotta be possible cosloadsof road bikes use a similar set up. Idont want to glue or solderit and tried to drillit out but there was metal going everywhere so I stoppedcheersjon
