Does anybody know where you can still get Livestrong bands? I'd like to support the cause and saw some friends wearing them the other day.

At an extortionate cost....Most Trek dealers should have them, but Trek themselves have run out now.At work we sold about 50 in 6 days and have had to order some more off laf.org, but they are on back order at the moment.

Don't support the pikey Barstewards on E-Bay who aremost likely putting all the cash in their own pockets.Though some will donate. I can't tell which ones though.

Any shop profiting from the over priced sale them and not quoting that ALL monies go to the charity should be boycotted, here's one to start with.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=2904&item=3694664977Quote on the auction that all the monies go to the charity and we just might come back.

Hi Paul - I'd be interested. On e-bay I see a lot of people apparently trying to make money for themselves.Anyone think it be imoral, or illegal, to try and win some of the auctions and then refuse to pay?I don't like the idea of people profiting from a charity like they are on ebay - but then I suppose that they should work harder to make more of them available.CheersTim

I got mine for a pound from a Nike outlet at one of the McArthur Glen places. There are McArthur Glen outlets at Liverpool, Bridgend, and some other places. There's even one in Roubaix, france! You can find out exactly where they all are on the website: www.mcarthurglen.com/centres/index.cfmHope this helps.Tom

There are some on Ebay where the seller states that profits will go to LAF.

Check this-I found a guy on Ebay, username Carlfrez, selling the bands. I sent him the following question-these bands are produced to raise money for charity. Can you confirm that the profit will go to the charity for which they were intended?"I have just had this response-"if your concerned that your profit will not go to charity perhaps you should be buying a band off the laf website where an obligatory $50 dollar donation is accepted in return for one wristband and not trying to buy them cheap on ebay??"Can you believe it?? Thieving git.I replied-"Your information is incorrect. There is no obligatory $50 donation. I have ordered before. I know some ebayers who are buying from you. They will now post negative feedback. I will also distribute your information on several web-based cycling forums. Your attitude is astounding.""

I bought two from the US Postal team bus at the Prologue stage of the Tour this year.If I say that Lance might have actually breathed on them how much do you reckon I could get for them on ebay?!?

This guy on Ebay is still emailing me trying to justify his actions. Anyone want his email address?

Dont you think its the stupid people bidding on the bands. Ive seen the limited edition US Postal Jerseys which are retailing at 50 squid from GB cycles are going for 150 golden nuggets in size xxl. What type of people are bidding on this stuff. Crazy!

Not so long ago i saw an auction on eBay selling a 'livestrong band TOUCHED by Lance.' I mean come on, like that's gonna make you a better cyclist?! I e-mailed the lady, asking her wether she had proof of this event. funnily enough, she declined to comment. There are some seriously greedy people out there... i mean the bands are for CHARITY!

GET OF YOUR HIGH HORSES you bought them form nike possibly the most immoral company in the world, who use children under six years old working 16 hour days without toilet breaks in their sweatshops. Frankly your moral" arguments look amusing when you are willing to condone or even support the use of sweated labour so boycott nike before you even think about this Ebay crap."
Mister Paul
18th September 2004, 4:05 PM
So James,I presume from your response that you know that none of the clothes you wear are made very chaeply in the Far East or anywhere for that matter where people are unfairly paid or treated?
James scourge of the rear mech hanger" Stout "
19th September 2004, 9:53 AM
i didn't say my clothes werent made in the far east but they are made by workers in unions with decent conditions i.e. howies clothes, its a pathetic argument to say you can't get away from sweatshop clothes the fact is its very easy if you are prepared to pay a little extra or spend time looking, there are plenty of shops witha moral purchasing code
Raggy (Neil Wragg)

So James, you can account for all your other clothes? Every single pair of your pants, socks, cycle clothing, bikes, food, toilet rolls, furniture, kitchen appliances and where was your computer made? Come on!!! You just make yourself into a hypocrite by slagging of Nike because it is easy to do.None of us mentioned we were buying the bands because of any morals. We just wanted to buy a cool accessory & give money to charity. You are the only one on a high horse here and unless you can prove that EVERY single item you own was made under fair conditions in countries with democratically elected governments, I reckon you've just fallen off it.Two Howies T's doesnt make you Kofi Annan.

i used to work in a fair trade shop, that sold Djembe's. i would tell the buyer about how the people making the drum were given a good price, and how the skin came effective animal husbandry etc etc.but really couldn't help myself at times and when i asked them which drum (skin colour)they would like, would say would you like the goat or the jack russell?""

what is so great about a yellow wristband? To me it looks like you have got another 50 mins before they call out will all bathers with yellow bands please leave the pool"If you want to sheeple around doing what is effectively marketing for Multi Multi millionaire Phil Nikes global assualt on workers rights then wear that yellow plastic. If you want to give money to charity then just stick the quid in a Anthony Nolan or kids with cancer box etc. charity my arse."

isn't it also about raising awareness?hence, bright yellow band!!

hmm lets boycott this guy", you think the bands aren't made on a profit motive anyway? Nike have an almost unparalleled record of worker abuse and frankly actively supporting that by making myself an advertising board for their activities is somethign i'm not going to doe, why not buy a little ribbon or a badge, or even better get off your arse and volunteer for some work to really helpa nd not let your money go into charity "admin" costs."

O.K. I've got one, so for the first time in my life I'm officially cool. I must be cos half of Britain's footballers wear them. But come on, they are incredibly naff and indelibly marked Made In China, so what's the big deal in about a month it'll only be scallies (and footballers) still wearing them

i wear one and have done since the last day of the tour.i can identify with lance a bit, but i never came close to death.i wear mine to raise awareness about Cancer, not to support nike, or make money for lance, or to support a badly managed charity, or because i'm a scally(you're wrong by the way).i don't know how many people have asked me what it is. i tell them. i then tell them to donate money to Cancer charities.to all those highlighting reasons not to wear one, maybe when you experience Cancer, you can then make the choice not to receive the treatment. stupid suggestion? well, wear the band if you want to, and remember that Cancer can hit anyone...

My gretat uncle and my gran have recently got cancer, when i was 9 my best mate died form a brain tumour. I never said i would not take treatment, why not buy a little ribbon or a badge or a daffodil or one of the other cancer charity symbols or are they not cool"? Cancer is a terrible thing but so is the abuse of labour, there are many ways to donate to cancer research ewithout abusing workers rights and i fully support those."

So where do they make these little ribbons? Chances are it is in a 'training centre', where disabled people are paid about £12 a week for their work.
