Did the Surrey Cycleway last year, and while it was good fun, the looking at the instructions to suss direction spoilt the avge mph a tad and hence we finished in the dark when we didn't mean to.I'm now trying to find a 100 miler to do somewhere Midlandsish. I've found some routes on the web, but they all seem rather faffy, and I don't want to lose time map reading. Can anyone point out some nice long quiet country roads?Oz.

I also did Surrey CW last year and had similar faff with signs.

Depends what you describe as Midlandsish...the Phil & Friends 150k loop in the Peak District from Sheffield is easy enough to follow. Not quiet 100 miles but with the hills will feel like it, and not too difficuly to extend it by 10k if the 100 is that important (dead end loop down into Fairholmes at Ladybower reservoir would probably do that.
