Raleigh Quadra for turbo trainer?

Mate at work is offering me a Raleigh Quadra.... sounds like it is quite an old bike but good in it's day.Any good for me to use as a turbo trainer bike?Also any recommendation on a turbo that I can get cheap from ebay but packs up smallish and is quiet?

Sounds ideal. Don't buy a wind trainer if you don't want noise. Most of the ordinary mag and oil trainers pack up about the same size. Magnetic ones seem to last longer.
