I recently just bought a new Dawes Giro 200. I'm really happy with it but i don't really know much about bikes so my opinion is not weighted. i hope in the future to upgrade the spec on my bike gradually. I was wondering is the frame on this bike up to much or will i have to get a new one? i'm not a serious bike rider by any any means. I commute fairly regularly and go on the occasional mountain ride.

No don't spend on it mate. Use it as intended. Frame will be like mine.. ie cheap, heavy, course blah blah.. I would out grow or out perform what you have then upgrade..That's my plan.

There is a french company called mavic who have cornered the market in quality, durable wheels.I'm guessing the back wheel will be the first thing to cause you trouble,so that would be the thing I would loook to upgrade. The rest of the bike should be fine for general commuting etc so enjoy it.
