Hi, as I'm a lady (and not much interested in bikes) I need some help from you bicycle enthusiasts.....I'm thinking about bying a hybrid for my husband....and it must be suprise....so it will be a bit tricky. I remember that about 3 years ago he really liked Genesis range. Is it still worth spending money on it, or is something better around within my price range about £700?  Can you please also suggest the size of the bike. He's about 6'2 (185cm) tall. Any advice will be appreciated. Thanks

I'd suggest a Focus Corrente Courier.  I don't have one and have never seen one, butFocus bikes have a good reputation (nice bikes at a sensible price) for their road bikes so I'd expect their hybrids to be reasonable, and, perhaps more important,if you buy a Focus bike from Wiggle then you get a thirty day trial period during which you can return the bike if hubby doesn't like it, and I reckon that's very handy to have when it's a surprise present.Regarding size, I reckon you'd be wanting the XL.

Watch out for the Trek range in Hybrid if your husband is 15 stone or over.

Hi all, in the end I bought     http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Focus_Wasgo_Lite_City_2010/5360045319/as one gentleman suggeted....I liked 30 days trial period as it was a birthday present and my husband loves it. It's german make and you can really see and feel it. Definitelly would recommend it.

Hello - nice bike!  I just wanted to post to say:-1.  We have Focus Mares cyclocross bikes from 2009 and for the money, they are very good decent bikes with really good write ups and reviews.2.  I think it's really nice that, not being a bike enthusiast, you took the trouble to seek out a forum to get some ideas for what is an expensive birthday present - you're very generous!  I just sold my Trek 1.5 road bike to my husband for £400.......  and it was his birthday on 1 April (I'm not fooling about either!).I'm pleased your husband really loves his present too.  Many happy riding miles to come!

Another one to say good choice on the Focus, I have a similar model to Max erm...sorry Cee Bee and I love it. Wiggle will be exceedingly helpful with any problems even if you don't have to send it back. Buy with confidence.
