Freehub probs

Hello, how can you tell the difference between a shimano freehub and a campagnolo one? And how can you tell what speed it is, 8,9,10 etc, I have numerous wheels to sell from a friends cellar but no idea how to tell the difference without actually putting cassettes on them, as i don't have any that aren't already on my bikes. I imagine there is a really simple way, but unfortunately i can't fathem it out and google isnt being very helpful =[

8 9 and 10 should be interchangable (8 speed dura ace and 10 speed 7800 dura ace need specific cassettes)on shimano, one of the mounting slots is a lot narrower than the rest see here - not sure if campag is the same but a mavic search might help
