is there a noticable difference when pedaling between race shoes and trail shoes (clipless) ?i have a pair of Lake mx200 and was thinking of gettin some Spesh Rockhoppers as my feet always get cold as the lakes are too tight in width? (and the speshs are cheap at the mo)Amit

Usually the soles are the same design between each manufacturers, its really the uppers that are different. With race shoes there is a need to keep your feet cool.normal trail shoes have more padding and comfort for general riding.Trail shoes can also have a bit more flex than race shoes.Personally I have ridden with Sidi shoes for the last six years and my feet have become acustomed to race shoes on all types of rides.Your feet might be getting cold not down to the temperature but due to lack of circulation with tight fitting shoes.Fit slim socks and neoprene overshoes.
