Any advice would be welcome on how I get the best out of riding with my new clipless pedals. I have used them once and am ok getting in and out of them. Still seem to have my old style of only pushing down on downstroke.Any advice on best technique and how to acheive it would be welcome.

thank you andyPart of article talks about aligning shoes/cleats to mimic natural alignment of feet when conected to bike.Yesterday I did 55 miles in my new spds/cleats/shoes which were aligned like parallel skis. After checking I now realise that my natural feet alignment is not parallel.Today I have an exceptionally sore back. I have re aligned my cleats. Hopefully this will stop me getting a sore back in future.I would not have known about this if you had not pointed me in the right directionTa much

In that article it explains about aligning the cleats so that they are slap bang in between the balls of your feet. I always though that you should have the pedal axle right in line with your balls (in your feet). If the cleats are inline then for me that is too far forward.Has anyone any views on this?

I went to Cyclefit and had them professionally positioned and little wedges put under the cleats to align my foot correctly. Biggest performance per £ upgrade available in cycling (IMHO).
