A537 out of Macclesfield heading towards Buxton, the pub is marked on most maps.I've done it from 3 directions, each one different.I thought the route past Bosley Resevoir, just outside Congleton, the longest climb.

Its a wee bit of a drag! I ended up doing a 100mile ride up there a few months ago, did the Cat and Fiddle twice. Nice climb.

If you are interested in the Cat & Fiddle climb I can recommend the section of the Cheshire Cycleway that runs from just south of Alderley Edge across to Bollington then up into the Peaks. From Alderley Edge station head south right through Alderley Edge itself. You can either turn left to go straight up onto the Edge and keep going until you find the blue route 70 signs, or you can climb south out of Alderley Edge and turn left up Artists lane which is actually on the route itself.
