    Long shot - I know but does anyone know of anywhere to hire road bikes in santoriniIf not any route ideas?

    No but I went there last year for the first two weeks in July and it was 100deg most days and way too hot to ride a bike. Lovely place though.

    Was on Santorini last summer - No road bikes available. Ended up hiring a Giant MTB. Now there's an admission! The best(?) we found were in a motorcycle rental place in the south of Kamari. We still needed to fettle the brakes and gears though, so be careful. The island is small enough to cover in a day, so just buy a map and follow your nose. The ride from Kamari up the Mesa Vouno to the ruins at Ancient Thira is fun though. Like a mini Alpe d'Huez!...
