Just thought it would be nice to have a little reflection time after finishing yet another ride. Some of you may remember that back in December I posted up asking for help because I was in danger of becoming a fatty...this all came about after going to my little brothers paintball party and feeling very very unfit. Just after the event I decided to jump on the scales and found out I weighed somewhere between 15 1/2 and 16 stone. I decided it was time to start getting fit.Over the rest of December and all of January I rode and rode my mountain bike for all I was worth, starting off with a 2 mile course, which I then upped to 8 miles. I remember the feeling after finishing that first 8 miles, and I felt I would never be able to do anything ever again! Slowly during January I kept plodding on with the 8 miles, and then managed to get around a 15 mile course, but again I was knackered at the end...but I could still see the good it was doing. Cycling coupled with sensable eating and no fizzy drinks were doing me proud. At the start of Feb I got my road bike, a Bianchi which I love. Again the miles were clocking up, until I was covering around 100 miles per week....which I have been doing ever since. On top of this, I rode the Test Valley Tour Last weekend and have entered The Hampshire Hilly Hundred in May.I write this because I have just returned from cycling, and have just covered 100 miles in 2 day, and my speedo on my road bike is just about to hit 1000 miles....but if you had told me I would do this last December I would have laughed in your face. I now weigh 13.1st, mainly due to cycling, and just wanted to thank you guys for inspiring me.Cycling isn't just a hobby now, its a way of life.

Well done Simon, the best bit is that you will have lost loads of fat and put on muscle as well as feeling fitter.

Well done Simon - top effort. And just think you did all that hard work in the winter and will be able to enjoy the next few months of warmer weather to ride in. Good to hear your enjoying your riding.

I wasn't going to make any more Gestapo-style spelling assassinations, but,... Nathan.I had high hopes for you. Then you go and throw it all away with a 'Good to hear your enjoying your riding.'
