I've ridden 24 hours lots of timesAgree with the comments about caffeine and sugar spikes, just avoid A lot of people ( me included ) have two "low" spots per day at 3am and 3pm. For the 3am one talking to others is a good way to stay upright. Or listening to loud music. As a last resort use caffeine and chocolate. In my case when the sky starts to lighten, I'm fine. The afternoon low spot can usually be "toughed out" The point "old brown mutt" makes about saddle sores is quite true. But rather than putting more weight/pressure on the pedals I favour having a really comfortable bike that can be ridden at a lower intensity 1/2 an hour in between loops isn't enough time for proper sleep but a short catnap has a good effect
