Road bikes for £1000 - recommendations
Hi All,
I'm a new member to this forum but would appreciate some advice. Up until last year I spent most of my cycling time on a MTB. After borrowing a friends road bike to do a few 70-100km rides and a few sprint triathlons, I'm now in the market for my own road bike to continue riding this year. My budget is £1000 for the bike (excluding shoes, peddles etc) so recognise I will be looking at a bike with combinarion aluminium frame with carbon forks. I have test ridden a cube peleton race which seemed good but would welcome the groups opinion of what else I should consider.
Cheers Rex

The best bike by far in the £1000 is the Giant Defy1 it has the best wheels and tyres in its price point so no need to upgrade as is needed with so many bikes to realise there full potential, aprt from that they are all good bikes, get one that fits and what your LBS stocks you wont go far wrong

'Get one that fits' seems to be the primary phrase here. I can have a 'be nice to shimano year' Pete, but I draw the line at conglo's..

make an offer on this - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/WILIER-Gra...#ht_500wt_1156
you might get lucky
if you won you could get a basic wheel and groupset , but have a frame you could upgrade with many times
