Agree with everything Ian H says except possibly the Contador comment - looked to me like he had nothing left...

Those time bonuses certainly have an impact on the results (and the racing) - rather than gaining a paltry second for his efforts, the winner takes a sizable chunk of time from the others - no point in wheel sucking your way to the finish on this.
[/QUOTE] So are there time bonuses for the time trial?, to be fair to all there should be.

Good point, CB. Today's stage should cause some changes to GC. Will the cat 3 climb be enough for Rodriguez to remain in contact? He produced a fine effort against the clock when it mattered in Milan. Will he do so again today?

I reckon the battle is now between Contador and Rodriguez. Froome has shown he can't compete on the step climbs with those two in the last few metres so he will lose more in time bonuses and he missed the chance to build up a buffer in the ITT. Wouldn't be surprised if Valverde overtook him as well or if he implodes completely with the accumulated exhaustion of the TdF and a long season. Of course he may have just been pacing himself and hopefully will prove me wrong.
