the only problem I have experianced with Vittoria tyres is they can be very tight to get on and off
they have performed as well as the conti 4000 used previously

They are probably just outside your present budget but the Pro 3 which is 99% as good is still available for a tad over £20 at Parkers: http://www.parker-international.co.u...ding-Tyre.html
Cb what is the main difference between the pro race 3s and the pro grip 3s? Which would you recommend? I'm going to sort myself out with some of the mich

You just missed Chain Reaction selling the Pro 3 @ £15.99. On that basis, when the sidewall of my GP4000S rear blew out, I bought a pair in fetching baby blue (I'm clearly not proud!). Have put them on the bike but not had a chance to get out on them yet - I'll report back at the end of this week when I should have had a few commutes on 'em.

Here we go again, it's new tyre time, do any of you know where I can get a pair of Schwalb Ultremo zx in all red, (not the red stripe) they seem to be a bit like the proverbial rocking horse sh!t.

No idea where to get red ones but I've just started a pair of Ultremos in a more discreet black. And aren't they just something! In the current slippery, greasy conditions they grip like nothing I've experienced before and the ride is sublime, like having a suspension seatpost.

Of course, if I puncture in the first hundred miles I will deny saying any of this, but so far, so brilliant.

Took out the RCUK Winter Bike for its maiden voyage yesterday on 25c Panaracer RibMo tyres, which felt balloon-like after the Ultremos, and coped well on occasional gritty country roads. They come with quite a deep tread and weighty claims for puncture resistance, which I hope are accurate! Time will tell.
