What a fantastic race - lots of attacking, huge crowds, great scenery and the British weather. I was amongst the thousands of people on Dartmoor on Saturday - brilliant atmosphere. So good to see riders like Sanchez and Basso really giving it a go and mixing with our local riders. Congrats to JTL - be interesting to see his role in the team next week - the course will suit him, could the team ride for him?

He's shown he can beat some of the best in the world in the early season races on short sharp climbs although everyone may not have been trying hard, and again in the ToB but not with a full quality field plus he is untried over such a long distance. I would put him in the mix and see what happens but I wouldn't make him my sole protected rider. If he does win would he be the first rider ever not in the top echelon of the sport to do so?
It's not your destination that counts, it is the glory of the ride. (apologies to Edward Monkton)
