Crud Roadracer Mk2s for me - yes I managed to snap off then end of the rear mudguard, but only because I lifted a cover off without ensuring it hadn't snagged on the guard. Anyway it was easily fixed with some strong black tape! They're light, easy to fit and any rattling noises are really minor - certainly not as bad as some metal mudguards that I've heard.

Bit late on this one as I have not logged in for a while. But in case you haven't made your mind up, I fitted a set of Crud Mk2 last year, About October. Took them off for the summer,(Mistake, cos it never stopped raining), and they'll be back on in the next couple of weeks. Did about 1200 miles with them over the winter. Verdict.....Brilliant. Keep all the crap off you and the bike. My bikes Black and you can hardly see them. Plus easy to fit and remove. Just watch the video on Mr Cruds site first for some tips. Top piece of kit.

Ah well, decision made. I went for the Raceblade Longs in the end and collected them from Parker International this afternoon. Notwithstanding the excellent reviews on here re the Cruds, they do seem to break and reviews in other places also said they were fragile and prone to damage. As I previously mentioned, I'm not the gentlest bloke in the world, so just felt that I wanted something that was potentially more solid. Fitted them tonight and they look good. I'll let you know how I get on. Thanks for the advice all

Remember to put some helicopter tape around the stays where the guards are attached. Otherwise you get a build-up of grit from wet weather rides that then scratches the frame laquer as the mudguards jiggle around when riding.
p.s. I'd have gone with the Cruds - yes, the end bits can snap, but the main guard doesn't. They're light, really flexible (ran over a branch that got caught in guard, which bent double then just pinged back into shape) and very effective.
