    She's a lucky and plucky lass. It looks a fabulous place to ride but I've already done one, less scenic, alpine tour so the next one will have to be the Pyrenees.

    Isn't Mont Blanc 4810 metres, not 4801? Although when I climbed it it was listed as 4807 . . .

    Bloody pedant! Actually it should be getting taller as the Alps are still forming due to the movement of the tectonic plates which may account for your 3 metres, or is that the Himalayas?

    Pedant? No, I think i quite reasonably expect anyone purporting to be a journalist of some type to get the facts right. And also curious as to how the mountain has apparently grown 3 metres in just a few years.
