It does actually make quite a bit of difference to comfort and rolling resistance as there is a bigger air pocket to absorb road noise but if the tyre is pumped to correct pressure then the area in contact with the road will be little different hence little difference on grip. Running a tyre at lower pressure may increase grip by increasing contact area but too low and you risk pinch flats and increased friction loss on dry roads. A tyre with a softer compound like Michelin Pro Grip may increase grip but then suffers from loss of endurance. All a bit robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Clement, there's a name from the past, and very well regarded they were too.
I hope your review shows them to be top-notch. Who knows, someday I may buy a couple.
