What is that on top of the tenner??

Aren't you glad I'm not busy today so have nothing else to do? Its a box of Park Tools self-adhesive patches. And before anyone asks: the cable things are emergency spokes and the two yellow tyre levers are part of the multi tool but I don't quite trust them as much as standard levers hence I carry both.

The Park Tools ones stick like a limpet, I roughen the tube first but the job is done in seconds. I had started out expecting them to be just a temporary get-you-home fix but they're so good they've usually stuck for the life of the tube, although someone on this forum said that they'd had a self-adhesive patch blow off, I don't know what brand they were. I'll admit if I'm repairing a puncture at home I'll more often use a standard patch and glue but that's more out of habit than lack of faith in the self-adhesive ones. As for the wet I don't know, I've not tried but that's another reason to carry the universal Buff in your emergency kit.

I carry nothing. My valet rides a respectful distance behind on his Pashley with the tools.

Pump, tube and multitool, keep life simple.

Carry a saddle bag which contains:
Leyzne pump, 2 spare inner tubes folded and each held with 2 elastic bands, 1 tyre lever, park allen key multi tool, 2 cable ties.

I usually carry 2 bottles unless just doing less than 50 miles then I just carry the 1 bottle.

Phone, keys and energy gels in jersey pocket. But on long rides of 100 miles or more then I use a Topeak Tri bag and put gels, phone, keys in that. Purely just for added comfort factor and that I know contents will stay dry in case of heavy prolonged rain.
