Spin spitfire
has anyone had any experience of these bikes?
I had a quick go at the bike show, lovely frame and finishing kit. the rotor cranks were nice to use too (on turbo trainer).
looking to order this week as a good deal at bike show, bit more than I was going to spend but hard to resist.
reviews seem good, but would like some info from members here.

Yep, I've got a Spitfire MkIII, and love it. I bought the T5 build (minus handlebars) and had it built up by my LBS with Campag Chorus groupset and Zipp bars. It runs on Spin's 30mm Speedmetal wheels (not well reviewed by road.cc, although mine seem fine). Total weight is 7.3kg
The ride is very smooth, and it has a "whippy" feel to it that I really like (although in pure performance terms that might not be to everyone's taste). My last bike was ally, so this is much smoother (and lighter).
This is it:

very nice, all the finishing kit looks the part.
in the end I ordered a van Nicholas Chinook it arrives tomorrow, can't wait.
I managed to change the 105 to apex and in a year or two may upgrade the wheels and possibly other parts to something shinier (would like some sram red parts or rotor cranks)Last edited by KarlR; 8th October 2012 at 12:07 PM. Reason: spelling
