    Pedals

Hi sorry if this has been asked before..

I'm currently looking to get a better bike than I have at the moment and noticed that they don't tend to come with pedals.
On my current road bike I have spds which are really for mountain bikes, but for my new bike I would like to get proper road pedals.

Do all the pedals fit any bike new road bike, I am thinking of getting a Boardman Team or a Ribble Sportive bike.

sorry if it seems an obvious question

I'm aiming to stick with mtb pedals so that I don't have to swap shoes etc.

was tempted by speedplay due to double sided entry.

most other road pedals are single entry- think I'd find that annoying. be interested to know how you get on with road pedals as.may change in the long term.

I think your decision to stick with the MTB mechanism is the right one Karl, indeed I have SPD's on my road bikes but they are Shimano PD A520 road pedals http://www.wiggle.co.uk/shimano-pd-a520-touring-pedals-1 and although one could wear MTB shoes with these I also have Shimano RT series SPD road shoes so there is all the convenience of being able to walk around normally instead of looking like a penguin with the sleekness of a road shoe/pedal.
It's not your destination that counts, it is the glory of the ride. (apologies to Edward Monkton)
