    Hi,

Has anyone ever sprayed there overshoes/cycling shoes with Scotchguard stuff?

Does it work or do harm?

Never felt the need to, a quick wipe with a damp cloth is all i use to clean them, the \neoprene ones sometimes get a wash in luke warm water, but thats it

Its more in the heavy shoes, you still get a bit of leakage. I wipe them to keep them clean, but Scotchguard on shoes keeps them more water resistant.

As I have yet to find a pair which is truly waterproof anything is worth a try I suppose - how often do you re-apply to keep it effective?
It's not your destination that counts, it is the glory of the ride. (apologies to Edward Monkton)

I find its like everything else if your out in the rain your gonna get wet but best to have something windproof covering the bits you don't want to get cold as wet and wind = cold. IMO waterproof Overshoes are only good for 15 mins max then your feet are going to be wet still best to have em on though to keep the wind from getting to your damp feet as like Pete says there is no soultion that I have found to stop the water wicking down your leg and in the top although have often wondered about shaved legs and Gaffa tape so question why bother with scotchguard
