I believe this is known as black humour, we could all tut and mutter how awful it was but it wouldn't do any good would it? Trek losing a truck load of bikes is a drop in the ocean for them, some lad losing his pride and joy he's scrimped and saved for would be a tragedy and it would not be appropriate to joke about it.
It's not your destination that counts, it is the glory of the ride. (apologies to Edward Monkton)

So based on your theory then CB, it would be ok to steal a load of gear from Marks And Spencers but not from the corner shop, because it would only be a "drop in the ocean" for M&S but the small shop owner who had scrimped and saved would see it as a tradgedy.
What about the poor b@st@rd who had scrimped and saved for a new Trek Madone, got all excited on delivery day and then turns up at the Trek dealer only to be told sorry your dream bike was nicked out of the lorry last night so no bike for you today, we will have to re-order.
This is what's wrong with this country, theft is theft, stealing from a multi national is just the same as stealing form a burger van, it will affect someone in someway.
Hope Vlads colleagues catch the thieving scrotes, and commiserations to Chris at Trek, it will take someones time and effort to sort all this out.

Christ Bigfella got out the wrong side of bed this morning did we? I don't recall condoning theft, I merely suggested that it was less appropriate to make a joke out of an individual's loss.

So unbecoming of a (supposed) upholder of the law! At least you have an excuse, same as me and a sick or dying patient, if I got upset about every one I'd go mad, hence medic's (and vet's) black humour, you have to make a joke of everyday work or it becomes a burden.
