    The Shoes

    Hi
I'm new to this cycling lark and would appreciate a little help. I've just ordered a new bike and shimano 105 pedals. I have 2 questions.
    1. Will all shoes shoes fit the 105 pedals as ive not bought shoes as yet.
    2. Any recommendations on shoes (£60 - £90).

    Thank you

Will what shoes fit the 105 clipless pedals?

You will need to buy some road shoes with cleats which attach to the base of the shoe then clip into the pedal

sorry what i meant was are all shoes, cleats and pedals compatible with each other or do only certain cleats fit certain shoes.

For the 105 pedals you will either need the yellow (some float) or the red (no float) shimano cleats.. The vast majority of road shoes will accommodate the shimano '3-screw-triangle' cleat fitting

Pretty much all road (not mtb) shoes will take Shimano SPD-SL cleats like those that will come with the pedals you've ordered.

I reviewed the Shimano R087 shoes back in January and they were excellent. Here's the review. RRP is £80 but they're widely available for about £55 now. I'm sure others on this forum with have alternative suggestions.

No problem. As George suggests the shimano r087 shoes are very good and I have a pair myself, largely available for less than the rrp. You can't really go wrong with them and I'd say they're a very good shoe to start off with, but be careful shimano shoes come up a size small so order half a size (uk size) bigger than you would normally
