So if women are more likely to have these kinds of accidents than men, the conclusion would be that women are therefore generally more experienced drivers.

(yes I know that's a load of rubbish but it's the sort of conclusions people arrive at all the time)

The same program I watched also tested older drivers i.e. 80 years old against young/inexperienced i.e. teenagers. The older drivers in general scored higher than the younger ones albeit the highest and the lowest score were in the older group. However one reason for this is that the older drivers drove more slowly and probably had more time to consider their actions. This maybe is what gives the perception that older drivers are a menace on the road because they go so slowly they frustrate those of us who want to go faster.

Good to hear Wiggo's back at home. Let's hope Sutton makes a similarly speedy recovery. File this next observation under "clouds/silver linings" but let's hope the publicity surrounding these collisions will inspire a bit more respect from motorists.

Doubt it, driving through Skipton yesterday evening and I followed some one on a bike he was more of a "get home from work late on a BSO" than a "Cyclist". No lights but still very visible, the car in front pulled out went passed him slowly, then deliberetley pulled right in in front. To me that was an action to "Show him a lesson" no need and agressive. A motorists who was quite happy to use a ton of metal to satisfy their ego

Or perhaps the motorist was satisfying his frustrations for being both unfit and a big (or should that be little) let down in the old bedroom department

'Appen, mind the size of the bloke on the bike I reckon it'd be a brave man who mixed it with him.
See the front page of the Metro headline

More likely file it under: 'Pigs might fly'!
