Sunglasses
Recently joined Welwyn Wheelers and doing the track session weekly of an evening from 7-9.. As you can imagine its very cold and held under floodlight. I'm looking for some glasses that I can wear in darker (floodlit) conditions to keep the wind and rain out my eyes..I was thinking amber lenses? Also need a pair for daytime road cycling so any suggestions on both would be great.
happy for changeable lenses but they tend to be more flimsy.. So equeally happy for two pairs.

Personally I would go for clear lenses, amber still cuts out a lot of light and is not suitable for dark, even floodlit conditions. I agree about the multi-lens glasses they tend to be flimsy and a poor fit, I got some DHB pro triple lens and despite being highly recommended they are cr*p. You really do get what you pay for with glasses so be prepared to bite the bullet and get some Oakleys for your daytime pair but choices are still limited when looking for just clear lenses. That said the most reasonable cheap pair I've got were Birdz Thrasher, you can find them here: http://www.stuff2gogo.com/s/birdz-th...s-goggles.html, they come with a removable foam goggle like insert although they have a tendency to fog.

We've got three pairs with interchangeable lenses in for test, Mark: BBB's Arriver at the more affordable end of the spectrum (£25ish), Bloc's Shadow, circa £45, and Carerra's C-TF01B at £95. We'll have them on the site soon so, err, keep your eyes peeled! +1 for CB's advice on lens colour and conditions: clear lenses under lights. Amber (aka 'persimmon') is claimed to enhance daylight, so a good choice for the dull, overcast days of winter.

For cycling, persimmon and yellow both brighten up the gloomy day but are of no real advantage over clear for improved vision so apart from feeling better and looking cooler you can save money not having this in your armoury although on a day of mixed lighting conditions may be an advantage as there is some filtering of bright light. Snowsports in poor light though is a different matter. Yellow and persimmon enhance contrast but I still get motion sickness skiing in a whiteout

i just bought shadowvisor ( google it) £11.50 incl postage. works a treat, but not so cool looking as shades. however, i far prefer it as i dont get any niggles on my ears/ nose, it doesnt fog up as quickly or easily as shades and its easier to wipe the rain drops off with the back of my gloves. my mate says it looks naff but im too old to care about that. keeps the wind, dust, cold, rain from hurting my eyes which is all i care about. works in the dark as it is a very light grey tint. ( I cycle 40 miles a day along small roads mostly in the dusk/dark)

A winter on the track wrecks my lenses. So, I buy a cheap set of clear lensed glasses and consider them fairly disposable as come the spring they are pretty scratched up.
That's if they make it that long. I have a habit of chucking them on the car seat at the end of the session and then promptly sitting on them!

I lose and wreck sunnies for a pastime. I've given up spending serious wedge on shades and go for a few cheapo pairs of Bolle safety glasses on Ebay. Search 'Bolle Contour' on Ebay and choose best price / feedback. I try and make 2 pairs last a year - 1 smoked (dark) for bright days + 1 ESP (nice amber tint) for duller days.
Edit: Just noticed you're looking for indoors there is a clear version also.
