I feel the roubaix shorts are a bit of an unnecessary addition to the wardrobe, I'll wear normal shorts and knee/leg warmers when I know it is likely to warm up and the warmers can likely come off but I fear then the shorts will be too warm and the upper thigh is not one where I feel the chill anyway. If they're going to stay on all day then I might as well roubaix knicks or tights. I was fan of knicks because they didn't seem to suffer the dreaded Nora Batty effect quite so much as tights and it was nice to get a bit of breeze to the legs on autumn days but with the advent of closer fitting aero tights the knicks have tended to stay in the drawer. So its normal shorts and knee/leg warmers or tights for me.
