So he could have ridden for Germany and come third or for the UK and win. Good choice by Phil' and we're glad to have him.

I have to say that Hindes getting an MBE does rather devalue the honours system. OK he won a gold medal but he has been a plastic Brit for all of 5 minutes to further his own career, deliberately fell off to avoid losing (not very British, obviously a filthy Hun trick!) and has competed in one games. There are 100% born and bred Brits who have slaved away for years with little or no reward who should be in the queue for honours long before him. On this basis Wiggo should be awarded a sainthood not just a knighthood. That said I concur with Mike and I'm still glad to have him to benefit us.
