The first in a series of feature articles this month on how British cycling builds on last year's incredible success. In this piece, we look at the 2012 Tour of Britain with race director, Mick Bennett.

Is another home winner essential to the TOB's continued growth?

As long as any winner shows the tenacity and guts that JTL showed in 2012 the public will get behind the winner British or not, but undoubtedly it would help the cause.
The ToB is attracting the British public for all the reasons the TdF does, bring on completely closed roads and a caravan!

Tend to agree, Mr Pres. One of the (many) uplifting things about the Olympic time trials was the support shown to every rider, although the cheers received by Froome and Wiggins wobbled nearby buildings. Be good to see another of the domestic Continental teams step up to Endura's level, though. We'll be examining the possibility in another feature.
