New rear wheel needed but what else?

I have been using a turbo trainer for a few weeks, due to terrible weather, but noticed my rear tyre wearing out rapidly. So I bought a turbo trainer specific tyre. Probably not the most sensible thing, as now I realise that I don't want to keep changing the tyre on the rear wheel when I want to go out for a ride.

So now I need a rear wheel, but what else. I guess a 9 speed cassette, but after that I am lost. Also what sort of cost am I looking at? I don't mind buying used, but where to buy?

Should be plenty of old wheels on fleabay - so wheel, cassette, inner tube (possibly rim tape) and you already have the tyre.

A back wheel will cost you about £50 and a cassette around £15 if you shop around you dont need top quailty, you have the tyre and I suppose the tube, I use the below combo on the turbo and its had about 2 years abuse, with no probs

Thanks guys. As I am a bit new to this, how do I know what cassette goes with which wheel. I have a boardman race with shimano sora 9 speed.

Any 9/10 spd Shimano freehub wheel (rim or hub can be any make, it's the freehub that matters) and any Shimano (or SRAM) 9 spd cassette.

As per Martin's post, but any 8/9 shimano freehub is cheaper, the rigida i linked to is a very solid wheel and suprisingly good I run a pair of these as winter wheels

Thanks guys for all the advice, I might wait until I am back in the UK. Flea bay France is super expensive compared to the UK, as are the shops for new stuff.

Have a look in Decathlon. The UK ones do a triban wheel for just over £30.
