The Official Giro d'Italia 2018 Thread

So, 4th May, the day of the first Grand Tour of 2018 approaches, with teams of 8 rather than 9. Grand Depart in Jerusalem.

Do we reckon Tom Dum can do it again (without a roadside rest stop) or will a determined Team Sky keep Froomey in top spot (and no doubt in a haze of controversy)?

Good to see Dowsett racing, hope he can score well in the TT.

For those who don't have Eurosport etc, Quest are showing highlights every night again - and better than last year, they're on at 7pm rather than 10pm.

Surely there has to be a decision, before Froomo can partake?

Yeah.... I talked to the wife about it..... but she wasn't interested as it was not about horses. He can therefore race.

However, a bit of a risk for Sky... just suppose he wins, and just suppose he is banned, then Sky will be stripped of the win.

But they've got no-one else in with a realistic chance of winning, so not really a risk. And plenty of publicity anyway.

I didn't think Tom Tit would be riding considering his main focus was the TdF but it appears he is, looking at the team sheets. I kind of hope Froomedog doesn't win, the shitstorm that would strike if he won then was DQ'd because of the ongoing case would not be welcome.

It doesn't matter how many times you fall down, its how times many you get back up that count.

I don't remember Froome ever ridding the Giro and the Tour ? Could be wrong ? I thought the Tour was normally the focus of his season, can't understand why he is riding the Giro, weird. Doubles the risk of injury, if nothing else.
