    Define "a fortune".
One man's fortune is another man's average!
Shorts vary in price and quality from £15-£300.
What will be your intended use/mileage etc?

Lusso Aero for around £100 look brilliant and review well in the press, even our own CB said they were tops.

Will be my choice when I need some.

Have a look on PlanetX. Some of their clothes are fantastic and super prices too. Think their Clubman range is particularly good for affordable bib shorts.

Put down as much as you can if you think they'll get the use, you do notice the difference between a cheap and an expensive pair.

Had the unpleasent experience of having a not so well paid for pair of bib shorts once and now suffer from scar tissue in the worst area possible after it chaffed
    like mad
/rubbed the skin off, on a long ride.

Hence I now have to wear Assos shorts and loads of Cham cream.

    I have:-
CC 1 kit 2016-Planet-X...bought at cost(£30)as PX were our sponsor that year.
    CC 1 kit 2017-BioRacer...£75
BioRacer much better in terms of Chamois and material quality.

CC 2 2017 kit-Endura..£60 as good as the BioRacer.

    Castelli Free Aero £140.
The Castelli cost twice as much as all the above and they're worth every penny
If it wasn't for the fact that I'm a member of two CCs I'd probably go for Assos or Rapha.

I would advise to avoid the cheap knock offs on ebay and the like.

I made the mistake of getting some and they may as well be padded with single-ply toilet tissue. They look pretty good though

DHB Aeron are very good for the money. I hear Endurance Pro ones are very good also.
