Cheers for the suggestions, but I've come up with a name, well a provisional name anyway...

I'm thinking about Tennessine. Bit random, but hear me out. Tennessine has a boiling point of 883 K, and the naming ceremony for the element was held in March 2017, which is the month and year I bought my bike.

A wholly justified rant. I can't understand why anyone would want to even breed dogs that have so many problems - borders on cruelty. Have the problems with squashed face dogs and their breathing being exacerbated by selective breeding for traits that are considered desirable for the purposes of dog shows or is that just a myth?

Ironically people are doing the same thing to themselves, albeit not through breeding... plastic surgery seems to be causing all sorts of issues with fillers breaking down, leaking etc, all in the name of looking like an Instagram star...

With regard to crossbreed/mongrel dogs, its a question of perception and time. The Cesky Terrier for example is a crossbreed that is now a recognised pedigree. Wouldn't surprise me if Labradoodles, Cockapoos etc are accepted as official breeds in the near future, such is their popularity and how distinct they are. There are some disreputable breeders around though who are trying to pass off puppies of very mixed parentage as a 'designer dog', which is where the less informed and their money are parted.
