    Pointless Gloves test.

Bit bored today.Took the dog for his usual walk and noticed the little pond/dam at the bottom of our Cul-de-Sac was iced over so thought I'd do a pointless test.

    Three pairs of "Winter" Gloves.
1.Altura Summit.Cost £35 in 2014.My go-to gloves when MTBing but a little bulky for Road use.
    2.Crane Waterproof/Windproof from Aldi.Cost £5.99
3.Crane Neoprene.(by far the best fit of the three).Cost £5.99

So I went down to the Dam put a glove on my left hand and submerged to see how long before cold/wet set in.
    1.Altura...got bored waiting,dry and warm.
    2.Crane...as above.
3.Crane Neoprene..wet in a few seconds, very cold but then seemed to get better but had to take hand out of water after a couple of mins as it was going numb.

    Then I had an idea......
Windproof when wet test.So came home, put RH gloves under cold tap,put them in a carrier bag and got in the car.Went to a local dual carriage way and put them on one at a time then drove along a 60mph and stuck my hand out of the window
    1.Altura...Dry,warm and toasty
    2.Crane...Dry,warm and toasty
    3.Crane Neo....Wet but surprisingly warm.

So by my not very Scientific test I deduce that the Altura and Crane Waterproof/Windproof are indeed WP/WP and the £35 glove is no better than the £6 glove!
The surprise was the Neoprene as I reckon on cold dry days it will work just as good as the £35 Altura but is much thinner so feels better on the controls.

    **Disclaimer**
I don't condone nor encourage any person or persons to drive at speed with one hand out of the window. It's not big and it's not clever.I'm an idiot so have an excuse for such behaviour.
